SDSL
Symmetric Digital Subscriber Line (SDSL) allows an equal bandwidth downstream from a Network Service Provider's central office to the customer site as upstream from the subscriber to the central office. SDSL supports data on a single line and does not support analogue calls.
The symmetry that SDSL offers, combined with always-on access makes it a favourable WAN technology for small to medium businesses and branch offices, and can be an affordable alternative to dedicated lease lines. Because traffic is symmetrical, file transfer, web hosting, and distance-learning applications can effectively be implemented with SDSL.
